Fare Thee Well

To tell you the truth I've all but forgot about this website. Right now it's on hold. I've got other things to see and do and I'm going to write it up in my livejournal instead. But I still want to keep this here. It has my scattered memories and I want to keep them all.

From now on read:

Its been a whil since I wrote anything. It seems like there's no point since no on e is reading it. I mean usually i don't cause enough curiousity in people to go and find out more about me... but what the heck.. when i feel like writing I bloody well would go and write regardless of all and sundry.

What whave I been doing?

Surprise Surprise

I finished Journey to the River sea and of course I loved every minute of it. And of course I know that Finn and Maia are ment to be together and Sergei is hot and Finn is jealous and they'll have the most wonderful lives in the world and I am jealous.

Nuff said.

What I want to write about is this completely new author I discovered. The only reason I discovered her was because someone from the Evil Empire decided to share. And I say kudos to whoever it was. I love you.

Her name is Jennifer Greene.

And the books that I've read are the modern romance kind which I don't particularly like even after reading those old harliquins. I like regency. 1814's. The ton. London. But I branch out once in a while. It's surprising how I decided to jump in and read with no background but just the title. After reading in fifty pages or so (and found myself chuckling) I knew she was good. So I have finished all three books that I got which are Blame it on Cupid, Hot to the Touch and The Honor Bound Groom. Terribly corny but what the heck! They're gooood.

XD

I know It's my Bday and all but this is seriously all that I'm gonna do. Look out for my Bday post in my LJ.

Fantastic Phase

I am currently reading Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson.

I LOVE IT!!

I love it so much till it hurts inside knowing that i can't be there with them, that they're not real and I'm nothing like them. I love it s much that I dream about it a lot. I could imagine Finn and Maia growing up in the amazon with Miss Minton and the Professor having lots of fun and have amazing things happen to them. I imagine how they would be caught up in the magic of the nature and learn more mysterious things from the natives in the forest. Every day for them would be an adventure filled with love and hope. They'd be living the best sort of life for the rest of their lives.

I know that what Maia and Finn fell in love with each other straight away (despite it being a children's book) and they're so sweet together. And you can tell when Finn went away any how they thought about each other a lot and felt wretched. And the way they stuck together is so heart wrenching. I always know that after they grew up and properly declared themelves they'd get married and live happily ever after. But not without a few problems thrown in ther way. Sure, Finn is outspoken and stubborn and stuff but he cares anyway. Maia also has a few prospective suitors like Clovis (even though Finn already told him to keep his hands off) and Sergei (that clearly is hot and likes Maia as well even though the author didn't say much) and who knows who else would be in Manaus.

I could declare that this is one of my most favourite books and it stands true even after I read it for the third (or fourth) time ever since I read it went I went to England.

I swear I'm going to buy the book when I have the money.

The other Eva Ibbotson book I read was Dial-A-Ghost which I guess was aimed for younger kids because it was fantastically optimistic and shorter. I did love Oliver though. I'm impossible not to.

Other than that I have been having a Diana Wynne Jones frenzy since I have luckily fell upon a treasure trove of it. I love her! She's amazing. I fell in love with the Chrestomanci and everyone else in it although now I can't really wax fluently over it since I'm now hung on Journey to River Sea but I can't even begin to express what I felt when I read it. Amazing.

What I have finished reading is the Derkholm Series which is The Lord of Derkholm and The Year of the Griffin (and I went absolutely crazy over this one because it was about Elda in the University and I fell in love with studying). I also finished some of the Chrestomanci books like Conrad's Fate, Charmed Life, The Nine Lives of Christopher Chant, The Magicians of Caprona, Mixed Magic and now I'm reading Witch Week but I'm very slow at it because it's about school and there is less magic than usual. But I'll finish it nevertheless.

I am now thinking about it very deeply about the theories of magic and the stuff that come up in it. About how similar Howl (from Howl's Moving Castle) and Christopher Chant is. About how the responsibilities of the Chrestomanci and how a person is "destined" for it (and how they accept the many responsibilities that go with it especially as a child). And many other things which doesn't seem to apply to real life at all but definitely does no matter what you think.

I swear I am going to buy all her books when I have the money.

And when I grow up I want to write just as well. And I would create books that would sway the world, fascinate it and amaze it. Just you watch.

Endless Days

Time changes everything... The Moon, the earth, the stars, the sun, me...

Life is harder to live than I expected...

Lyrics: The Way by Fastball

They made up their minds and they started packing
They left before the sun came up that day
An exit to eternal summer slacking
But where were they going without ever knowing the way?

They drank up the wine and they got to talking
They now had more important things to say
And when the car broke down they started walking
Where were they going without ever knowing the way?

Anyone could see the road that they walk on is paved in gold
And it's always summer they'll never get cold
They'll never get hungry
They'll never get old and gray
You can see their shadows wandering off somewhere
They won't make it home but they really don't care
They wanted the highway
They're happier there today, today

The children woke up and they couldn't find 'em
They left before the sun came up that day
They just drove off and left it all behind 'em
(Leavin' it all behind)
But where were they going without ever knowing the way?

Anyone could see the road that they walk on is paved in gold
And it's always summer they'll never get cold
They'll never get hungry
They'll never get old and gray
You can see their shadows wandering off somewhere
They won't make it home but they really don't care
They wanted the highway
They're happier there today, today

Anyone could see the road that they walk on is paved in gold
And it's always summer they'll never get cold
They'll never get hungry
They'll never get old and gray
You can see their shadows wandering off somewhere
They won't make it home but they really don't care
They wanted the highway
They're happier there today, today

................. End.....................

I read:

Carew's Bride
The Incurable Matchmaker
Slightly Married
Slightly Wicked
Slightly Scandalous

All by Mary Balough in the past two days...

And I think that they're ok but not as good as other writers that I have read. And the sex scenes are not as good as... Catherine Coulters...

...

And she has this tendency of stuffing in a dozen other 'epic romance' stories. Maybe they're another book but... argh... irritated...

Reverie

I'm a lazy person. I do try to change but nothing is really motivating me, pushing me. So my attempts of self improvement goes to waste. But lately, I haven't been reading as much as I want to either. Maybe this is just because I'm lazy, but I'd blame it on my lack of books. (HAHA DIRT POOR!!!) However I have been reading other things. Like political blogs.

BUT! The one book I did read yesterday was the Kingdom of Dreams by Judith MacNaught. For one thing, I rather liked her book entitled Something Wonderful but I was skeptical about this. For one thing it was a different time period and... I don't like everything she writes... I also had this distinct feeling that read it before and I didn't like it. But... it turns out to be ok!!! I did like it!! The girl wasn't a loser and the guy wasn't a sadist. But I could only stomach it once and I won't read it for a LOOONG LOOONG time. The only reason I read it was because I was bored.

The plot was predictable of course. As all romantic novels tend to be. But they're eatable(digestable).

I have also been overwhelmed by the compulsion to swear. Mainly it's because of this blog called The Malay Male. Why the heck did I read it you ask? Mainly because he reads. Thats all? YES! Thats all! And he seems to write good english... when he wants to. XD And he acknowledges the genius of Gaiman and Moore. You rock dude!

But he swears. And does unspeakable things... The only thing that redeems him is those books. And anime/manga. XD Too bad! I AM A GIRL AND I'M OFFENDED! FEAR ME!

*yawn*

I watched My Little Bride too. It's so funny and cute and nice! *sigh*

Change of Plans

I have pretty much abandoned this blog but I think that it would be such a waste to do so. So what I am going to do on this blog is write about entertainment. What anime's or J-dorama I watched and summaries of books and such.

So watch out!! It's not completely dead! (Yet...)

My cellphone rings, and a terrible premonition flashes through my heart
Calm down, mi amigo*

I’m in a mess, help me, those guys are chasing me
Maybe this is the end, mi amigo

My phone died, cutting me off from you

Si**, the two of us were always one, at home we were invincible, weren’t we?
Si, we’d longed to come to this town for a long time
For some reason, I remember the scenery, embracing the beautiful sky the day we left

When I reached a dark alleyway, you were crouching there
I’m sorry I didn’t get there in time

I can’t keep the promise we made the day it all came crashing down
But I’m so happy you came

You held my shaking hand tight

Si, when we came to this city we felt like we could have anything we wanted
Si, we left our home behind without looking back to pursue our big dream, smiling the whole time
We dreamed that together we could chase after a future that wouldn’t change

Si, the two of us were always one, at home we were invincible, weren’t we?
Si, we’d longed to come to this town for a long time
For some reason, I remember the scenery, embracing the beautiful sky the day we left

Gah

You Are a Visual Learner
You tend to remember what you see, and you have a good eye for aesthetics.
You excel at art, design, and computer programming.
You would be an excellent film director - or the next Bill Gates!

You Should Rule Saturn
Saturn is a mysterious planet that can rarely be seen with the naked eye.

You are perfect to rule Saturn because like its rings, you don't always follow the rules of nature.
And like Saturn, to really be able to understand you, someone delve beyond your appearance.

You are not an easy person to befriend. However, once you enter a friendship, you'll be a friend for life.
You think slowly but deeply. You only gain great understanding after a situation has past.
